We’re excited to announce the latest release of CarGuroo AI, introducing advanced AI-powered recognition for license plates, vehicle make, model, and color. This update also includes a new neural network dedicated to country and state recognition, delivering higher accuracy and enhanced performance.

This release marks a major leap forward, providing a fast, highly accurate, multi-channel, server-based recognition system that integrates seamlessly with Milestone.

Key Advancements in CarGuroo AI

AI-Enhanced License Plate Recognition

The new AI-driven LPR engine is built on multiple convolutional neural networks, significantly improving recognition accuracy. Enhancements include:

• Better performance at sharper horizontal and vertical angles
• Improved detection of smaller plates from longer distances
• Elimination of false positives, effectively filtering out misreads from ads on buses, billboards, and other non-plate sources, bringing false detection rates close to zero

Next-Level Make and Model Recognition (MMR)

AI integration has brought make and model recognition to a new level of precision, particularly improving recognition from the rear view across supported regions.

• Supports almost 3,000 vehicle classes
• Identifies over 4,400 different car models from various global regions
• Delivers three times the classification power compared to the previous non-AI version

New AI-Powered Country and State Recognition

A dedicated neural network has been added to classify license plates with higher accuracy, providing:

• Improved European plate classification by country
• Better differentiation between U.S. states and UAE Emirates

Enhanced Usability & Installation Options

Optimized Installation Process

Users now have the flexibility to choose between two installation modes:

• Traditional CPU-based mode for standard recognition
• AI-powered mode, offering higher accuracy (requires an NVIDIA GPU)
• The AI-powered version currently supports up to 8 channels per server

New Search Filters Reset Button

A reset button has been added to the search interface, making vehicle searches faster and more convenient.

Offline Activation Now Available

For offline environments without internet access, CarGuroo AI now supports offline activation, ensuring seamless deployment in local network-only settings.
